Arts for a Cause

About a year ago, I travelled to honduras with my church youth group to do some mission work there. I had a blast and got some amazing shots. It was quite the experience.

They are going back again this summer to add to the church that we have been building there. Arts for a Cause is a fundraiser for the trip. The deal is that artsist from around the area can sell their art and half goes to missions and half goes to the artist. Pretty good idea. I entered some stuff because I had stuff. Hopefully they sell nice!

Joel and Paij Wedding

Today (yesterday), I was fortunate to shoot a wedding for my dear friends Joel Forsyth and Paij Howard, now, of course, Paij Forsyth. It was my seventh wedding and one of the more exciting ones to be honest. The pictures turned out awesome and my new SB-900 helped soften the light more than ever. It’s my new best friend. I learned a lot about exposure compensation on this shoot. Anyway, enought about my time, here are some shots from the wedding.

Amazon funnies.

So I was just looking at buying some stuff on Amazon, when I started looking for shipping prices. Turns out that Amazon Super Saver Shipping takes longer than expected to get where it needs to go. It made me laugh.

Apple Hits 1 Billion Apps

As of 3:54 PM Central Time, Apple Inc. hit 1,000,000,000 apps downloaded in their App Store that opened only 9 months ago. The whole deal around the celebration is that one lucky person is going to win a 17″ Macbook Pro, a $10,000 iTunes gift card, a 32gb iPod Touch, and a Time Machine. I hope I win. Good times.

Trying to Finish

So this might be the biggest procrastination project I have ever been involved in.

I was assigned a 6-page paper at the beginning of the semester. I have about 24 hours until it’s due. I need some help. I keep telling myself that I just need to sit down and write it. I have. But I’m not done. Ugh, this is part of my procrastination.

What does this face looks like?

Coming back soon!

As of today, Simon Asher Studio is back under construction and is scheduled to relaunch within a month or so. Keep posted for updates. Subscribe to the feed for updates on the site. Hopefully we can get this site back up and running soon. In the meantime, check out my Flickr photostream here.

Ready For the Sun to Go Down

New Look!

Hey everyone,

I started to think how cool it could be to switch up the style of this blog just for Christmas…so I did!
I added some snow in the background and added some presents over the sidebar. Pretty cool, right!?!

Happy Holidays!

Oh, and P.S., I’m on 5 pages now!

New Look!

December is here!

Break out the advent calendars, start the countdowns, write your Christmas lists; December is finally here once again!

The semester is almost over. Finals are almost done. Freedom at last. Time to relax, play some video games, drink some hot chocolate, hang out with friends, buy lots of stuff for other people, buy lots of stuff for yourself, ahh the holiday season.

I’m happy it’s here.

Black Friday Deals….

Apple Shopping EventBe back soonPeople across the nation are sitting outside their favorite mall, electronics store, etc….waiting, in the freezing cold of the official dawn of the holiday shopping season: Black Friday.

They are waiting for that Bluray player that was marked down from 170 bucks to 120 bucks. They are waiting for that iPod Nano that is marked down from $149.99 to $145.00. They are waiting for that 50″ 720p HDTV that is now only $800. They are the heroes that will be smiling on Christmas morning when their present is opened and the glory falls upon them as being the greatest person that had ever lived.

Aside from all that…they are the stupid people who are freezing their butts off in the cold all night long to get a mediocre product for a price that can be found on eBay any day. Even Apple.com is in on it. They even closed their store down to set up everything. I received an email from them the other day telling me to mark my calendar for this special one-day shopping event. I took a look at their what I could be “SAVING” at their event page and I saw absolutely nothing different except new decorations for the event. Turns out the only savings you’re gonna get are free shipping. That sucks cause you normally get free shipping from them anyways when you spend over a certain amount of money. So basically they’re just building up hype for free shipping. Kinda gay if you ask me.

Although, I’m sure there has to be some good deals out there somewhere. They wouldn’t call it the biggest shopping day of the year if it wasn’t. Meh. Happy Thanksgiving until next year!

Merry Christmas til Christmas!!!

Another SNL Hit

Andy Samburg has to be one of the funniest actors on SNL right now. I don’t know about you, but this is history in the making. Enjoy.

Edit: I just watched a couple more………and I had to add them. Obvious reasons.
